Community, colleagues and clients are at the core of what Steve Peotter, President and CEO, calls “feel good banking.”
As President and CEO of the locally owned One Community Bank, Peotter recognizes the importance of the client experience and for clients to know how committed he and his team are to providing full-service banking that reflects the needs of today’s busy lifestyle, whether that be on-site or online.
“Everybody has a different need, want and time of day to get things done,” he said. “For that reason, I like to say we are providing a hybrid approach to banking.”
The bank offers clients the traditional part of community banking through its physical locations, multiple sites, drive-through amenities and personal attention from the moment people walk through the door. Clients who prefer a more remote approach can take advantage of convenient technology including ATMs, mobile banking and even a video banker on an Interactive Teller Machine. “We serve the community, and everyone in the community has a different way of how they like to bank and connect with us,” Peotter said. “That’s why I like to describe us as a modern, progressive, forward-leaning bank. We are small enough to meet every client on a very personal level and satisfy their banking needs no matter how simple or complex.”
Another personal touch is that each of One Community Bank’s 16 full-service locations throughout south-central Wisconsin is unique.
“We build our banks to best reflect the communities we’re in,” Peotter said. “Naturally, the core foundation of each, such as the height, light and service offered is consistent from one to the next, but we also look for aspects of that particular community to include in the facility.”
For example, at each location, the “C” in the One Community Bank logo reflects the color of that community. The city name appears prominently below it in the same color.
“Our ‘C’ color is fluid depending on the community. If the high school colors in that area are red, the ‘C’ will be red, as well as the name of the community listed beneath it,” Peotter said.
The company’s reach within the communities is extensive and far-reaching. Philanthropic efforts center around community-based healthcare, with OCB sponsoring various area hospital health events and child and adolescent mental health activities. The bank also sponsors area sports teams, chambers of commerce activities, community parades, block parties, and more recently, hosted the Waunakee Badger Tailgate at its Waunakee location.
“We are very intentional about what we invest in,” Peotter said. “We see our involvement at the hyper-local level as crucial to our becoming a trusted and active participant within that community. For us, community is, literally, our middle name.”
